Social Justice and Equality
Research on this area concentrates on hierarchies of economic, social, and political power between individuals, groups, and states, and the role of law in reinforcing and challenging these hierarchies. How equality figures and is expressed as a core legal value is a theme that distinguishes Faculty research. Faculty have made significant contributions to the development of feminist perspectives on law, drawing on political theory, philosophy, cultural studies, critical animal studies, political economy, and theatre.
